Changing lives with blogs
There’s no doubt blogs have changed the lives of many bloggers and blog readers.
From the bloggers point of view it has opened up new ways to earn income – honestly and dishonestly, new ways to promote what they do, new ways to communicate their ideas. The blog platform has given a voice to everyone. It’s got people known, it’s created friendships, it’s made fortunes, and it given a voice to everyone with access to the Internet – good or bad.
From the readers perspective they have access to a wealth of information, ideas and opinions inaccessible previously. I guess somewhere along the way many lives have been affected by that. In addition blogging opened up a new way to find like minded individuals. From this point you can assume that there are many blogs providing support to their readers – were I ill for instance – I’d be more likely to research online support than through any local meetings or the like.
But do blogs really change lives? Read the rest of this entry »
Free SEO guide for beginners
I’m often asked about SEO by clients and friends, and I see so many people around forums asking for advice I thought I’d write a simple beginners guide.
I’ve tried to write it in plain English with as little jargon as possible to make it easy to follow. The thinking being that if a reader follows the steps outlined when launching a new site this will teach them the fundamentals of SEO as they go, and the site has been properly set up in terms of SEO.
It’s simple, it’s step-by-step and it is absolutely FREE!
Thanks!
I just want to thank the following for getting the pixel ads site, and the project, off and running….
Ange Loughran – www.lanzarotelates.com – top bird with great villas to rent in Playa Blanca
Jan McDonald – www.blenheimweddings.co.uk – my cousin, and wedding photographer extrordinaire
Geoff Holt – www.geoffholt.com – his MBE hasn’t changed him a bit!
Stephen Dodgson – www.thebeachintenerife.com – fellow ‘islander’ and a nice guy to boot…
Starting to raise funds for my project…
As I’ve mentioned about my little ‘pet project’ before, I need to raise a fair amount of funds to get it up and running…
Having explored commercial sponsorship via a trusted friend – I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not the best option (of course that’s not to say I wouldn’t be happy to talk to any potential sponsors). I don’t thinks it’s necessarily the quickest option, I really need to keep the details of what I’m doing secret – until I can actually do it, and then there’s a matter of control – I simply don’t want to give any away!
So, how can I raise the necessary money? Read the rest of this entry »
The birth of an idea…
Somehow I’ve been set down a path since the latter part of last year. And a series of things have brought me to where I am now. The big idea, I’ve mentioned in passing a couple of times.
Only Elle and one of my oldest and closest friends know exactly what I’ve been thinking about.
So what are the things that have led me to it? Read the rest of this entry »
Finally: I know what I want to do when I grow up…!
This week I had a ‘moment of clarity’ as alcoholics say – strangely enough after a few glasses of wine. After, well, as long as I can remember I think I might have finally hit on an idea that ticks all the boxes for me…
I never really knew what I wanted to do when I grew up – but I think this might just be my ‘big idea’. In many ways I’ve drifted through my business and working life, not that I can complain, it’s been good to me – I’ve never fallen into the wage slave mentality, I’ve done all sorts of things – some exciting, some not, some lucrative, some not, I’ve had a number of experiences not open to many, and I’ve learned a hell of a lot from the variety and my constant need to change direction… Read the rest of this entry »
