Given the walk I’m planning I’ve wanted all along to tie it in with pulling my finger out and improving my general fitness.
Given that I haven’t been in a gym for about four and a half years, consumed far to much wine and have continued – the fool I am – to smoke, I actually quite surprised myself.
Okay – I didn’t push myself very hard. But if I’m very honest I thought I was going to struggle full stop. I’m pleased to report that my starting point for this is higher than I thought it would be! Phew…
I’ve never doubted my own ability to complete the walk (short of injury) – gym or no gym. But it sure as hell makes sense to use the two things to help drive each other!
